Open Access padlockePrints

The Newcastle University research output collection, currently available on ePrints, will shortly be moving to a new open repository platform, Figshare. To prepare for the data migration we have paused adding new content to ePrints, and will resume once the new repository is launched. During this time you will continue to have access to ePrints (but no new content will appear). We will share updates here when available.

Abstract

The dissociation of NO2 under strong-field conditions by femtosecond two-color fluorescence depletion spectroscopy was reported. The dissociation dynamics were interpreted in terms of nuclear motions over light-induced potentials formed by coupling of NO2 valence and Rydberg states to the applied field. It was found that generation of n′ = 0 and 1 NO A2āˆ‘+ results in different fluorescence modulation patterns. The time required for three-photon dissociation of NO 2 to give NO A2āˆ‘+ and O3P at Terawatt intensities was also observed.
