The Newcastle University research output collection, currently available on ePrints, will shortly be moving to a new open repository platform, Figshare. To prepare for the data migration we have paused adding new content to ePrints, and will resume once the new repository is launched. During this time you will continue to have access to ePrints (but no new content will appear). We will share updates here when available.

Abstract

Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is the second to third most common cause of neurodegenerative dementia after Alzheimer’s disease (AD). It is characterised by cognitive fluctuations, visual hallucinations, and Parkinsonism. However at early stages, both diseases can present similar clinical phenotypes which obstruct differential diagnosis and proper treatment. In this study, we analysed resting state fMRI (rs-fMRI) images from AD and DLB patients as well as healthy controls using graph theory. The use of network analysis to the study of DLB revealed significant differences with AD and healthy controls
