Abstract

This patent application has been granted by the UPSTO (Oct 2011). Under this patent protection, EPI-NCSC cells can theoretically be made by any method, as long as the final cell population exhibits the defined/claimed characteristics. The allowed claims will include both the process of producing the EPI-NCSC cells and the cell population by itself. This dual IP protection is unheard of in stem cell IP protection.
